OUR STORY
Lumii began with a simple, powerful truth: too many children struggle with emotions they cannot express — and too often, adults don’t see it until it’s too late.
Our founder, Laura, saw this first‑hand as her son faced challenges he couldn’t fully explain. His experiences highlighted a wider reality across schools: children have a lot to say, but not always the words or confidence to say it. That insight became the starting point for building something better.
A Real Problem. A Real Response
As Laura's son began to find the right support — at home, in school, and through people who listened — she recognised how many children never reach that point.
She teamed up with Mark Beedles, a business owner working in the education software development space, to create a practical, scalable way for every child's voice to be heard.
Together, they built Lumii.me: a wellbeing platform designed to give schools daily insight, early visibility of concerns, and a clearer understanding of how pupils are really feeling.

This page recounts the origins of Lumii.me, beginning with founder Laura’s personal experience of a child’s voice being missed and the consequences of that silence. Her experience inspired the concept of a system that collects daily voice, issues safeguarding alerts and provides a safe space for everyone in the school community. With input from education and safeguarding experts, Lumii.me evolved into a trusted Emotional Insights & Safeguarding System used worldwide.
Lumii.me was inspired by a personal journey. Our founder, Laura, witnessed how her son struggled to express how he felt — and how easily those feelings could be missed. Determined to change that, she set out to build something that would help every child be heard safely, every day. What began as one family’s experience has grown into a global movement for emotionally intelligent schools. Lumii.me stands for care, connection, and the belief that no child should ever feel unseen.

Support from a caring family, a new school and an attentive community helped Laura’s son heal. In that healing, Laura found her purpose. She partnered with educator Mark Beedles to create Lumii.me – a system rooted in empathy, designed to listen and built to keep humans at the centre.
